Begin with the catalog record, not the nickname
Shoe spreadsheet titles are often weak identifiers. The current cnfanshp.com shoe category contains numbered labels such as “shoes-60,” and older lists may use community nicknames that do not appear on the live page. Do not replace a vague source title with a confident product claim. Keep the catalog ID, destination URL, option image, chosen colour and selected size together. Those fields are more reliable than a name copied between sheets.
Open the live detail record and verify that the image and ID still match the directory entry. Check whether the visible price belongs to the intended size or a different option. Save the seller’s size chart and the order selection before paying. If a parsed Sugargoo order shows a translated title, compare its image and options with your screenshot rather than assuming the translation identifies the same pair.
Convert your foot measurement into an insole target
EU, US and Chinese size labels are not a universal measurement. A label can be inconsistent across sellers, models or batches. Start with foot length measured while standing, then compare it with a shoe that already fits and the seller’s stated insole or internal length. The amount of extra room you need depends on shoe shape, sock thickness and personal preference; a generic one-size-up rule is not evidence.
When the item reaches the warehouse, request an insole length in centimetres if fit is uncertain. The measurement should show the ruler clearly from heel to toe. If the insole cannot be removed, ask what method was used and treat the result as approximate. Compare the measured value with your saved target before accepting. A warehouse size-label photo is useful, but it confirms only the label, not the internal space.
Photograph the pair as a pair
Many visible shoe problems are comparison problems. Ask for both shoes in the same straight frame. Compare toe-box height and shape, eyelet placement, tongue length, heel-tab height and the way panels meet the sole. A single angled beauty shot can hide left-right differences. Front, side, rear and outsole views answer different questions, so do not spend every standard photo on close-ups of one shoe.
Use close-ups only after the overall comparison identifies a detail that matters. Check stitching for skipped areas or obviously uneven paths, and look along the sole edge for separation or excessive glue. Surface marks may be visible, but photos cannot prove long-term bonding, material composition, water resistance or authenticity. Write findings as observable facts instead of declaring the shoe “perfect” or “1:1.”
Check labels, accessories and the selected variant
Compare the internal size label with the box label and the ordered size. If there is a style code or colour code, record it without assuming it proves authenticity. Confirm whether spare laces, tags, dust bags or other pieces shown in the live listing are actually included. Place all removable pieces in one photograph so a missing item is easy to see.
Colour can shift under warehouse lighting and camera processing. Use the option image, overall pair photo and a neutral background as comparison points. If colour is a critical part of the purchase, request a photo in more neutral light rather than arguing from one saturated screen. The goal is not laboratory colour measurement; it is to catch an obviously wrong variant before the seller return window closes.
Decide whether the shoe box is worth its volume
A retail shoe box is light but bulky, so it can increase volumetric weight. Removing it may reduce freight, especially when several pairs are consolidated. The trade-off is less crush protection and the loss of labels or packaging you may want to keep. Do not use one rule for every pair. A soft everyday shoe and a structured high-top may tolerate different packing.
If you remove the box, request shape support, separate wrapping and protection from heavy objects. If you keep it, ask whether the box itself will sit inside a larger carton and whether unnecessary empty space can be reduced. Use pre-shipment measurement when box decisions could change the route. The final outside dimensions, not the original seller carton alone, determine the volume calculation.
Calculate a shoe’s delivered cost in layers
The directory displays a CNY price snapshot and an approximate USD conversion using dated ECB reference rates. Neither is an international shipping quote. Add Chinese domestic delivery, optional measurements, international freight, insurance, German import VAT, the temporary 2026 customs duty where applicable and possible carrier handling. For several pairs, allocate freight by weight or volume so one bulky box does not disappear inside a simple average.
Compare scenarios: boxes kept, boxes removed, one consolidated parcel and separate parcels if route limits make that relevant. Use the same honest product values in every scenario. A lower declared value is not a legitimate freight-saving method. If a pair is already marginal before tax and shipping, a realistic worksheet can prevent an expensive experiment.
Plan for Germany without a tax-free promise
Germany generally applies import VAT to goods arriving from outside the EU. From 1 July 2026, EU guidance also describes a temporary EUR 3 customs duty per item classification for low-value distance-sale consignments up to EUR 150. Do not assume shoes are exempt because their product price is low or a shipping line is described with a tax-related nickname.
Use an accurate content description, quantity and transaction value. Keep the payment record and item list. Branded-looking footwear can create intellectual-property risk, and carrier acceptance does not guarantee that customs will release the goods. This site reproduces catalog labels for identification; it does not authenticate them or recommend evading controls.
The eight-step shoe decision
Save the exact live record and variant. Compare your foot and a known-good shoe with the seller chart. Record an insole target. At warehouse arrival, photograph both shoes together, check labels and included pieces, inspect sole edges and request the missing measurement. Decide accept, further evidence or after-sales action before international submission.
Then choose box handling, request measured parcel dimensions if necessary, compare eligible routes and add Germany import costs. Keep the final record with product ID and last-checked date. A good shoes spreadsheet does not claim every link is a winner. It makes fit, QC and shipping assumptions visible enough that you can reject a weak decision before it crosses a border.
What a maintainable shoe record should display
A useful public record should make verification possible without pretending to sell the shoe itself. Display the exact catalog title even when it is generic, the product ID, live destination, source image copied to stable local hosting, category, CNY snapshot, dated USD conversion and last-checked date. Show the fit and QC questions beside the link rather than hiding them in a generic site-wide disclaimer.
Each card must point to a distinct detail page and use a distinct image. When a link fails or the main catalog changes the product, update or remove the record instead of silently sending several cards to one destination. This maintenance standard helps shoppers and search engines distinguish a real directory from a grid of repeated placeholders.
